When the Hierophant reverses, the established order comes under scrutiny — and that scrutiny is often necessary. Rules exist to serve people, not the other way around, and there is a long and honorable tradition of questioning institutions whose authority has become self-serving, whose structures have calcified into dogma, and whose gatekeeping has begun to harm those it was meant to protect. You may be in a period of genuine spiritual individuation — moving away from received belief toward something you have tested and found true for yourself. That process, while disorienting, is a sign of real maturity. The shadow here is rebellion for its own sake, the rejection of all structure simply because it is structure. The question worth asking is: what am I moving toward, not just what am I moving away from?
