Something has destabilized the inner ground from which genuine strength is drawn — and the reversed Strength card asks you to look honestly at what that something is, rather than either dismissing the difficulty or catastrophizing it. You may be experiencing a loss of confidence that feels more total than the situation strictly warrants — the sense that you are not equal to what is being asked of you, that the inner lion has gone quiet or turned against you rather than alongside you. Alternatively, this card can point to a different shadow: the use of force where patience was called for, the attempt to control what cannot be controlled, the disguising of fear as dominance. Both of these — the collapse of will and the overextension of it — are the reversed face of Strength, and both resolve through the same practice: honest, compassionate attention to what is actually happening inside you rather than to what you wish were true. The capacity for genuine inner courage is not gone. It is obscured, and the path back to it begins with acknowledging that it is currently obscured.
